KPPAC TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL SCHOOL YEAR

Teach them to deal with information. Teach them to think critically about what they see or hear, as well as how to sort out and prioritize information.

Teach your teens to make decisions and make them accept the consequences of each choice they make.

Give your teen responsibilities with every privilege. That’s real life.

Show Intimacy. Teens are still kids inside; they need the warm feelings of belonging that come from good touches and hugs.

Let teens know you are willing to just plain listen to their ideas without making judgments. Talking is a way they think things out.

Now is the time to help your child become more organized and develop good habits. Teens Encourage your teen to map out consistent study times and create a special place where he/she can study each day. Help your child learn to keep organized class notes and materials by getting involved in choosing school supplies.

Make arriving at school on time every day a priority - Being on time for classes benefits all students, staff and parents!      If you know that your child will not be in school today - please call the office at 604.588.6934 to inform the staff - it’s handy to have your child’s student number for this but not essential.

Have a question, concern, problem? Talk to your child’s teacher or call the office at 604.588.6934 and speak to the administration. They love to help!

By actively participating in PAC meetings and events, you are contributing to your child’s academic success. Find out what’s going on at KP High School - check out the next PAC meeting.
